Call for Papers: "Hoards"

The Richard Rawlinson Center for Anglo-Saxon Studies and Manuscript Research seeks papers for a session on hoards at the 52nd International Congress on Medieval Studies (May 11-14, 2017). The session is intended to encourage a discourse on the culture of hoarding in the early Middle Ages, especially in Anglo-Saxon England, and on how we might best negotiate the interrelationship between a hoard and its individual objects. Comparative approaches to hoarding in cultures within and without Europe are welcome.

Paper proposals should be directed to Elizabeth Teviotdale (e.teviotdale@att.net). The deadline for proposals is September 15.
