The symposium, focused on the history of the book in the early modern period, will feature 11 papers by art historians, historians, and literary scholars. Each will address the central question of the event: how did the medium shape the understanding of other cultures in the early modern period? More about the theme here:

Papers will be pre-circulated. Participants will give short, 10-15-minute presentations based on their papers (as a reminder, and for the benefit of those who have not had a chance to read...); this will be followed by extended discussion. If you would like to join us, and would like to receive a copy of the papers, please emailagentsofcontactccny2015@gmail.com. (If you have questions about the event, please email akisery@ccny.cuny.edu.)
